Our Customers’ Well Being is at the Center of Our Service.

.

We continue to focus on the safety of our team, families, and tutees, as our top priority. We closely observe CDC-recommended precautionary measures and offer the option to Virtual and In-Person sessions to keep our families and students safe and comfortable.

We require COVID-19 vaccines for all of our team members, and we maintain masking requirements for in-person tutoring sessions.

This Month’s Student Focus: ACTs and SATs.

So, what does that alphabet soup mean, anyway?

Most high school students take the ACT, SAT, or both during the spring of their junior year or fall of their senior year. It's important to leave time to retake the test if you need to raise your score before you apply to college. The ACT exam is offered nationally every year in September, October, December, February, April, June, and July

Talk to your school's counselors about when your school is offering the ACTs and SATs.

How To Prepare for These Exams.

Practice, pacing, and tools

Did you know? According to ACT and SAT test takers, a key difference is that students with a strong English background may flourish on the ACT, which puts more emphasis on verbal skills, while for students who are strong in math, the SAT may reflect that much better.

Preparing students for these exams may include:

  • Practicing testing under timed conditions (pacing)

  • Learning elimination, quick reading, long/short math tools (test-taking)

  • Acknowledging limitations in testing and strengthening them

Colleges Consider Both SAT and ACT Scores.

It opens doors to post-secondary funding, admissions, and much more.

Most colleges and universities will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT, and do not favor one test over the other. That said, college-bound students are increasingly taking both exams. Changes made to the SAT in 2016 have made it easier than ever to prep for both tests concurrently, and earn competitive scores on both!

Since the content and style of the SAT and ACT are very similar, factors like how you handle time pressure, ideal test taking strategies, and other tools can help your student excel at both exams.

Tutors use individualized learning methods.

  • We tutor the student and not the subject, and don’t follow a standard one size fits all approach.

  • We individualize learning tools and strategies

  • Provide test-taking strategies that will be applied throughout secondary education (college)

  • Provide a safe environment for students to learn and gain confidence applicable in the classroom. People will notice!
