We require COVID-19 vaccines for all of our team members, and we maintain masking requirements for in-person tutoring sessions.

Student Exhaustion is Real.

.

It’s mid-semester, and students can experience learning exhaustion.

As many schools approach the middle of their semesters, it is quite likely that students come to face some level of burnout…the physical and mental exhaustion that comes from a snowballing of stress, overwork, overexertion, and so on. Here are typical signs of exhaustion and burnout:

  • Getting sick more frequently

  • Anxious, irritable, nervous, or worrying frequently

  • Over/undereating

  • Escape - increase in gaming, social media, binge watching

Blockhead Helps Students Learn with Effective Planning and Time Management.

DID YOU KNOW: January and February are ideal times to start tutoring for mid-semester coaching.

Training looks different this year for us all. Learning post Covid-19 online learning also looks different. Our students need additional support, strategies, and time management skills to take the stress out of the process. Our tutors align with students based on their learning styles, which is why we are able to reach and teach students in a successful way.

Staying Ahead of Schoolwork Doesn’t Have to Exhaust Students.

Mid-semester, slow and steady wins the race.

Consistency and its importance is something adults are quite familiar with in their own lives. Like our bodies and work demands, our minds also need consistent exercise. The concept of consistency helping children to grow applies to many aspects of their lives. If your child plays a sport, they need to show up to practice routinely to get better. If they play an instrument, they need to rehearse frequently to become proficient.

The same applies to learning. With all of this in mind, we are aware that kids have busier lives and schedules than ever before. Therefore sticking with a steady tutoring schedule can be a challenge.

How Students Manage Burnout.

“There’s not a moment where I feel like I shouldn’t be studying. It’s a lot. It’s a lot of work I’m doing now … [I just feel] pure exhaustion and not wanting to even look at my work and then feeling bad because I have to,”

— High School Student

“From everyone I talk to, there’s no breaks and the professors are moving so quickly to get through all of the material…it’s just exhausting and it’s a lot,”

— High School Student

“[I try to] hang out with friends, like last weekend I focused on sleep, trying to go to the gym more,”
