Our tutoring team is built on the power of instructors with a number of specializations. Founded by Dayle Block, we cater to students from elementary through post-secondary schooling (college). We match tutors to align with the learning needs of each individual student, and guide families to be continually involved with their students’ education. We honor and respect the private culture around tutoring services and provide utmost discretion with each family. Our tutoring specialties
Math
Many students struggle with mathematics. Our tutors have a wealth of experience in providing individualized instruction including basic math, geometry, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, or a combination of subjects!
Science
Our tutors are highly-qualified in the instruction of science from elementary level up to college AP levels. Science tutors dive deeper into understanding chemistry, biology, earth, and environmental sciences, physics, and more.
Language arts
Reading, writing, and language studies are critical skills that can be a challenge to many students. Our tutors face this challenge head-on. Improving language confidence through skills in grammar, writing mechanics, and comprehension.
Test prep
Well-guided preparation for standardized tests (ACT, SAT, AP) provides students with more post-secondary opportunities and choices. Sessions are individually tailored to each student’s unique learning method and academic needs, ensuring they can maximize their potential come test time.
Executive function
Our tutors help students improve both their content knowledge and executive functioning skills. During each session, we use homework, project work, and upcoming tests and quizzes to teach a variety of executive functioning skills. This helps students take ownership of their work and gain independence.

Our Founder
After being continuously asked by fellow teachers and parents for tutoring in math and other subjects, Dayle Block knew that there was a gap in quality tutoring for elementary, high school, and college students. After nearly twenty years in the classroom, Dayle Block launched Blockhead Tutoring, branching their services into various subjects and test prep tutoring.
